About Murray Memorial Mortuary
Reminiscent of classic Rocky Mountain lodges, Murray Mortuary's architecture reflects where we live and functions as a gathering place for the celebration of life. Beautiful stone floors and stone walls create a sense of strength and appreciation for the outdoors. Its central valley location offers convenience for families spread throughout the area.
Large windows in the chapel open up to the lofty peaks of Mount Olympus. Instantly, your glance is cast upwards toward the mountain view, and you find yourself pondering what is beyond the blue ether and feeling that your loved one is safe and in loving hands. A gentle breeze catches the leaves of the tree outside the window and creates a calm swaying of dancing leaves.
A wall of floor-to-ceiling windows opens up to an outdoor reflection area and creates an airy flow of movement. Lining the room are banks of windows never letting you leave your connection wiht the outside. Above these windows, a series of arching sturdy beams hold the polished wood ceiling; sunlight reflects off the ceiling warming the room.
Stepping out of the chapel and into the great hall, you see ornamental gold chandeliers guiding you down the hall. On both sides, walls of windows separate three viewing rooms that can be configured for large or small gatherings. Down the middle of the hall are islands of nature that mirror the beauty of Wasatch Forest. Pine trees and wildflowers stretch up towards the wood beams. Cushioned benches attached to the forested centerpieces give family members a beautiful setting to sit and reflect.
Quite simply, Murray Mortuary is a mountain lodge masquerading as a mortuary.
